Zile Maşat Höyük
As a result of the excavations carried out at Maşat Höyük Ruins between 1973–1984, very important artifacts that could shed light on the history of Tokat were unearthed. The most important of these artifacts are the tablets written in Hittite cuneiform. These artifacts uncovered as a result of the excavations are exhibited in Tokat Museum. At Maşat Höyük, there are three periods experienced: the Early Bronze Age in 3000 BC, the Hittite Age in 2000 BC, and the Phrygian (Iron) Age in 1000 BC.
