Giriş kapısı üzerindeki kitabesine göre; 1375 yılında Candaroğlu Beyi Sultan Celaleddin (Kötürüm) Bayezid döneminde yaptırıldığı anlaşılan ve Saray Camii namıyla bilinen bu Camii, kesme taştan yapılmıştır. Kareye yakın dikdörtgen planlı olup üzeri bir kubbe ile örtülüdür. Saray Camii, Sinop’ta bu plan tipinin en büyük örneğidir. Sinop Kitabeleri adlı eserde; Camiin batı tarafındaki küçük bir bahçe içerisinde iki adet kabir bulunduğu yazılı olsa da bugün burada bir adet sanduka mezar görülebilmektedir. Sandukanın ya da mezar taşının kitabesi olmadığından kim olduğu bilinememektedir. Sandukanın inşa tarzı Selçuklu dönemine işaret etmektedir.
