It is located in Nimetullah Mahallesi, in Ellisekiz Meydanı. It is estimated to have been built by Nimetullah Bey, one of the sanjak beys of Urfa, in the 1500s. According to records, for the mosque; Hacı Nimetullah bin Asker made an endowment in 1721, followed by Hacı Haydar Ağa in 1755. In an undated inscription in the mosque, the following statement appears for the building: “While this was an old and ruined church, it was repaired and converted into a mosque.” This inscription, in which the name Firuz Bey is mentioned, was probably prepared between 1779-1781. The door at the entrance to the harim section (main prayer space) reflects classical Ottoman ornamentation. In the harim section, semi-domes were added to the sides of the main dome, thus expanding the space. The aim here is to enable more worshippers to pray in the same space.

As decoration in the structure; the geometric ornaments formed by octagons in the mihrab niche are noteworthy. The cylindrical minaret with a single balcony is important for being the tallest minaret in Şanlıurfa. The madrasa rooms surrounding the courtyard were built by Abbas Ağa in 1695. Of the three graves located on the ground in the northern part of the courtyard, two belong to Nimetullah’s son Rûz Bey (?-1520) and Lütfü’s son Ali Bey (?-1594).
