Aşağıkayabaşı-Begüm Mosque: The basilica-plan church located in the Aşağıkayabaşı neighborhood was built of cut basalt stone. The main worship area is divided into three naves by 8 columns symmetrical to each other, and the middle nave is larger than the side naves. The balcony section is reached by the stairs located on the right side of the entrance on the west facade. On the east of the longitudinal rectangular-plan church, there is an apse section with three iwans, one large in the middle and two smaller ones on the sides. Geometric decorations are seen on the saddle-shaped ceiling and on the inner parts of the arches connecting the columns.
The church is generally well preserved inside and out. The church is reached by descending stairs from the main road and is used as a mosque. Its front and two sides have porticoes, and the porticoes are covered with barrel vaults and painted yellow, blue, and tile color. The area around the door is in the shape of a cross, and there is a Greek inscription dated 1835 above the entrance door. In addition, the decorations made on both sides and the upper part of the door are today covered with whitewash. It is popularly called Begüm Mosque. It is generally well preserved, but there is flaking on the ceiling and frescoes.
