The complex, commissioned by Nevşehirli Damat İbrahim Paşa, the famous grand vizier of the Tulip Era, in the first half of the 18th century (1726-1727), consists of a mosque, madrasa, caravanserai, primary school, imaret, bath and two fountains.

In terms of the complex program, it is one of the last examples of the classical Ottoman complex program. In the complex, which is situated on sloping land, the mosque, madrasa, primary school and imaret were built on a platform bounded by a retaining wall. To the east of this platform, through the middle of which passes Camii Cedid Caddesi, is the mosque; to the west are the primary school, madrasa and imaret, along with two fountains, one outside the south wall of the mosque courtyard and the other on the retaining wall at the corner of the primary school courtyard. The bath is to the north of this platform, on the sloping land.

İbrahim Paşa Camii has a plan scheme with a square prayer hall and a rectangular mihrab-front unit projecting from the south wall. In the structure, which is covered by a large dome, the transition to the dome is provided by squinches. The covering of the mihrab-front space projecting from the prayer hall is a half-mirrored vault. It is located in the city center and is within walking distance.
