Orman Bölge Müdürlüğü tarfından Kent Ormanı Projesi kapsamında gerçekleştirilen çalışmalar sırasında ortaya çıkan mezar buluntuları üzerine Mersin Müzesi tarafından gerçekleştirilen kurtarma kazısı sonucunda burada bir Hellenistik-Geç Roma- Erken Bizans dönemlerine ait yerleşimlerin olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Çevrede görülebilen kalıntılar arasında planı tam anlaşılamayan temel izleri, işlikler, ana kaya düzeltilerek yapılmış olan iki tarafında kanalları bulunan antik bir yol, toplu mezar alanı, lahitler, sarnıç sayılabilir. Mezarlardan çıkartılan ve İ.Ö. 1. yüzyıla tarihlenen tek kulplu testi, unguentarium ve iki adet küçük tabak müzeye nakledilmiştir. Kent Ormanı girişinde ahşaptan yapılan küçük bir mekanda çeşitli böcek ve kelebek türleri ile yaban hayatına ait bazı kuş türlerinin ve tanıtım fotoğraflarının yer aldığı bir müze yapılmıştır. İçerisinde 5 kilometrelik yürüyüş parkuru da olan bu alanda hem spor yapmak hem de antik kalıntıları ve müzeyi gezerek keyifli bir zaman geçirmek mümkündür.
