It was commissioned in 1371 by Abdüllatif bin Abdullah, who served during the time of the Artuqid sultans Melik Salih and Melik Muzaffer, while its minaret was commissioned by the Governor of Egypt Muhammed Ziya Tayyar Paşa. Gülcan Acar Inside, there is a very long waqf inscription that also runs above the windows on the mihrab wall.
