1843 yılında ulemadan Hocazade Hacı Yusuf tarafından yaptırılmıştır. 2 Mart 1893 tarihindeki Büyük Zelzele’de hasar görmüş ve yıkılmıştır. O camiden günümüze ancak şerefesine kadar sağlam kalan minaresi gelebilmiştir. Yıkılan caminin yerine bugünkü cami yaptırılmıştır. Cami yıkıldıktan hemen sonra inşaata başlanmış; fakat yardımların yetersiz kalması üzerine inşaat bir süre durmuştur. Daha sonra devrin padişahı II. Abdülhamit’e başvurulmuş ve padişahın yardımlarıyla yapımı tamamlanarak 1912’de hizmete açılmıştır.
