Located 12 kilometers southwest of Isparta and 8 kilometers from the city center, Gölcük is a crater lake at an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level. The area around the lake is bounded by hills rising about 150-300 meters and covered with volcanic ash. The circular lake has a diameter of 1,5 kilometers and a depth reaching 30 meters. It has preserved its character for many years as a natural wonder meeting the day-trip relaxation, entertainment and sports needs of the people of Isparta and the surrounding area.

Gölcük was registered as a nature park in 1991. In Gölcük Tabiat Parkı, there are red pine, black pine, oak, cedar, acacia, akçakesme and other maquis-type plants, as well as rabbits, foxes, squirrels, turtles, snakes and various bird species.
