On the slope of Kaletepe, in the area indicated as “Mancarlı Sırtı,” starting from an elevation of 1,483 meters, there are tumulus graves with approximate diameters varying between 5 meters and 9 meters, surrounded circularly by neatly cut stones, with their upper parts shaved flat and sometimes their centers excavated and hollowed out as a result of illegal digs. It has been observed that some of these tumulus graves have dromoi, while in some others, graves with a rectangular plan extending east-west in their centers and understood to have been built of large, neatly cut block stones are exposed in places.
There are ceramic fragments of daily kitchenware from the Late Hellenistic-Early Roman Period on the tumuli. During the climb from Mancarlı Sırtı toward the summit of Kaletepe, the remains of square-plan buildings whose function is not fully understood can be traced from their walls at foundation level. The remains of the ancient city extend up to the summit of Kaletepe. Since a cistern was encountered at the summit and some spaces of different types whose function is not understood are also present, it is estimated from the remains that there was a small castle structure here.
