Kovada Gölü Milli Parkı

Kovada Lake, located 29 kilometers south of Eğirdir District, is a rather shallow lake. In addition to its unique richness of flora and diversity of wildlife, its great potential in terms of opportunities for outdoor relaxation and recreation has been enough to make Kovada Lake and its surroundings a national park. In and around the national park, which covers 6534 hectares, nature research, camping, hiking, sightseeing, birdwatching and climbing can be done.

Eğiridir- Kovada Gölü Milli Parkı Bicycle Route

The route starts in front of the Eğirdir bus station and ends at Kovada Gölü Milli Parkı. Since the first 4 kilometers of the fully asphalt road is the Eğirdir-Konya Highway, cyclists should be careful on this section. At the sign for Kovada Gölü Milli Parkı at the 4th kilometer, turn right. Almost all of the remaining part of the route is on this road. There are almost no ascents or descents along the road.

Along this route, there are apple orchards on the right and left sides of the road. Since September and October are the apple harvest period, trucks and tractors will be coming heavily from behind and from the opposite direction along the road. Therefore, care should be taken.

After proceeding approximately 23 kilometers in this section, the Kovada Gölü Milli Parkı junction is reached. Turn left from here. The last 3 kilometers of the route take visitors to the finish point accompanied by Kovada Lake.

Kovada Lake Walking Route

When the national park is reached, more detailed information about the area and walking route options can be learned from the visitor information center. The path starting in front of the information center reaches a small pier after a short while. This is one of the ideal points for taking photographs.

When proceeding approximately 100 meters along the route, at the path junction encountered, continue to the right along the lakeshore. After 200 meters, the second pier is reached. At the road junction 100 meters after the pier, if the walk is to be kept short, go left; if a long walk is desired, continue straight. When going straight at the junction, the peninsula is circled with a route of approximately 1,5 kilometers.

At the highest point of the peninsula, the observation tower is reached, where magnificent lake photographs can be taken. After the tower, the visitor information center is reached with a 900 meter walk and the route is completed. The route length is 3 kilometers.
