Boyacı Camii Located on Hamdi Kutlar Caddesi, Boyacı Camii was commissioned, according to one account, by Kadı Kemaleddin, and according to another account, by Boyacı Yusuf. There is an inscription stating that it was completed in 1357 during the Mamluk period. Another inscription states that it underwent restoration in 1575. One of the most important features of this mosque is that it has a pulpit that is rarely seen elsewhere in the world. This pulpit was built recessed into the wall by means of a rail. On Fridays, the pulpit is opened by pulling it along these rails, and after the imam delivers the sermon, it is pushed back into place. Thus, space is saved. This mosque in the Şahinbey district is also known as Boyacıoğlu Mosque. Its construction date is not certain; one account attributes it to Kadı Kemaleddin, while another credits Boyacı Yusuf. The structure is built of dimension stone and shows features of Islamic architecture.
