It was built between 15 May-15 August 1963 on the Bayburt-Erzurum road, at the Kop location of Merkez Maden Town, for our martyrs who died while resisting the Russian forces between 28 February-16 July 1916. This 13 m high monument consists of two sections built one on top of the other. The lower part was made in the shape of a tall cube from yellow, white and black stones.
