Asıl adı Süleyman dır. Melami tarikatine mensuptur. Keramatleri aşikar olan bir kişiydi.Halk arasında sürekli hakir görülürdü. Elbisesinde binbir yaması vardı. Ciminde tekkesi vardı. 1939 depreminden önce Erzincan valisini ikaz ettiği, vali bu tavra karşı onu zehirletmek istediği ancak zehirli kahveyi içen Ciminli Baba' nın zehirlenmediği anlatılmaktadır. Depremden önce Zeki paşaya deprem olacağı konusunda ikazda bulunmuş ve Ordu deprem olacağı düşüncesi ile koğuşlarda dışarıya çıkarılmıştır. Askeri birliklerde içeride görevi bulunan 15 kişi hayatını kaybetmiş ve diğer askerlerin tamamı kurtulduğu bilinmektedir.
