Its construction began in 1403 during the time of Emir Süleyman and was completed in 1414 during the time of Çelebi Sultan Mehmet. Its architect is Konyalı Hacı Alaeddin, and his foreman is Ömer İbni İbrahim. It belongs to the type of multi-domed "Ulu camiler'.
