Akçakoca'da bulunan tarihi Orhangazi İlköğretim Okulu, ilçede sivil mimari örneklerinin yoğun olduğu Orhangazi Mahallesi'nde bulunmaktadır. 1928 yılında inşa edilen Orhangazi İlköğretim Okulu devlet eliyle yapılmış ilk okullardandır. Restorasyonu yapılan okulda ünlü yazarımız Rıfat Ilgaz'da öğretmenlik yapmış olup, "Karadeniz’in Kıyıcığı" eserini bu dönemde yazmıştır. Halen eğitim-öğretim faaliyetinin devam ettiği okul güzel mimarisiyle dikkat çekmektedir.
