Babasının halifelerinden şeyhülislam Fahreddin Efendinin sohbetlerinde bulunarak tasavvufta yükseldi. 1326 (H. 727)da babasının Mısır’a gitmesi üzerine, Mecitözü’ne gelip Elvan köyüne yerleşti. Bir cami, zaviye, türbe ve hamam yaptırdı.
