The source for the history of the ancient city of Nysxa (Nisa), established on slopes full of olive groves on the foothills of Malgaç Dagi to the north of Sultanhisar district, is the geographer Strabon. The city, consisting of two parts due to the flood bed, was founded by Seleucid King Antiochus I on top of an older settlement called Atymbra and took the name of the king's wife. The two-storey library founded by Aristodem, who was raised in Nyxsa, the Hellenistic-era water reservoir, the stadium and bridge from the Roman period, the public assembly, and the city necropolis on the Acharaka road are the main structural remains that can be seen.
