It is 18 kilometres from Kaş and 6 kilometres from Kalkan, and is approximately 600 metres before reaching Kaputaş Plajı. It was discovered in 1972 by Geologist Dr. Temuçin Aygen. It is 50 metres long, 40 metres wide and 15 metres high. It is a fairly large cave with different chambers and channels. The cave, which is divided into two parts as inner and outer galleries, takes its name from the blue light entering inside through the passages in the outer section. All of the inner galleries, which allow access to the air pocket, are completely dark. Soft coral formations and biodiversity are striking in both the inner and outer galleries of the cave. Depending on the season, shoals of shrimp can be seen in the inner galleries. With both its depth level and its structure, it offers the opportunity for cave diving to divers of every level.
Mavi Mağara Visiting Hours: Special boat tours are organised to the area. There are no restrictions on visiting days and hours.
