Cenabi Ahmet Paşa Cami, Mimar Sinan’s only work in Ankara, is located in the Ulucanlar district. In the works titled Tezkiret-ül Ebniye and Tuhfetü’l Mimarin, it is stated that this mosque was built by Mimar Sinan. The mosque, commissioned after the death in 1565 of Cenabi Ahmet Paşa, vizier of Kanuni Sultan Süleyman and Beylerbeyi of Anatolia, underwent repairs in 1883, 1887 and 1940.

Built of Ankara stone, the mosque reflects the classical Ottoman style with its central single dome over a square (13,9x13,9) space. The last congregation area is covered with three domes carried by four marble columns. The middle dome is slightly larger, while the other two are somewhat smaller. Its mihrab, minbar and entrance door, made of white marble, are quite plain. The mosque has 32 pointed-arch windows, and there are also 16 windows around the drum on which the dome rests. The mosque forms a külliye with the Cenabi (Hayali) Ahmet Paşa Tomb, the Azimi tomb, located in its courtyard, and the Ottoman Cemetery behind them.
