There are many inscriptions on the castle, namely above the gate entrance, in the Mescit, on the eastern bastion and on the entrance gate of the palace.

In the inscription above the castle entrance gate, the name of Mamluk Sultan Kalaun is mentioned; in the inscription in the mescit, the name of Melik Eşref Selahaddin Halil; and in the inscription on the entrance gate of the palace, the name of Melik Nasır. Inside the castle there are a mescit, prison and dungeon, a tower where carrier pigeons were raised, cisterns, a bath and a secret waterway descending to Kahta Stream (Nymphaios).
