Yapı Adana ili, Seyhan ilçesi, Alidede mahallesi, Ali Münif Yeğenağa caddesi üzerinde yer almaktadır. Yağ Camii Ramazanoğlu Halil Bey’in emriyle 1501 yılında kiliseden camiye çevrilmiştir. Asıl adı Eski Cami olan yapının kapısının önüne yağ pazarı kurulmuş olmasından dolayı günümüze değin Yağ Camii olarak anılmıştır.

Cam-i Atik, Cami-i Köhne olarak da adlandırıldığı vakıf belgelerine göre sabittir. Minarenin inşası 1525 yılında tamamlanmıştır.
