Nizamoğlu Konağı Gayri Menkul Eski Eserler ve Anıtlar Yüksek Kurulu Başkanlığınca 1975 yılında korunması gerekli eski eserler kapsamına alınmıştır.Yozgat Merkez İstanbulluoğlu mahallesinde yer alan konak, 1871 tarihinde yapılmış, uzun yıllar konut olarak kullanılmış, bir müddet Kız Sanat Okulu, bir dönem de Tekel Deposu olarak hizmet vermiştir. 1979 yılında kamulaştırılan Konak büyük bir onarım sonrası 1985 yılında Müze olarak hizmete girmiştir.
