Anavarza Antik Kenti Kozan ilçe merkezinin 28 km güneyinde Dilekkaya Köyü’nde yer almaktadır. MÖ 1. yüzyılda Romalılar bu bölgenin idaresini Vassal kral olarak atadıkları Tarkondimotos'a bırakmışlardır. Antik Kent MÖ 17 yılında Romalıların hâkimiyetine girdikten sonra büyüyüp gelişerek Anadolu’nun en önemli metropollerinden biri konumuna yükselmiştir.
Antik kentin sütunlu caddesi, hamamı, kilise kalıntısı, tiyatro, amfitiyatro, stadyum, suyolları ve kaya mezarları, kentin batısında bulunan nekropol ve antik yol, deniz tanrıçası Thetis’e ait havuz mozaiği, 3 girişli zafer takı ve ovanın ortasında bir ada gibi yükselen tepe üzerindeki Orta Çağ kalesi önemli eserleridir.
Anavarza dağının üzerinde yer alan ve birkaç kompleksten meydana gelen kale, dağın eteğindeki düzlükte kurulmuş olan ve etrafını çeviren surlar kentin akropolisi durumundadır. Dünyanın günümüze kadar gelebilmiş en eski tıp-eczacılık kitabının yazarı olan hekim Dioscurides, Anavarza’da yaşamıştır. Anavarza Antik Kenti, UNESCO Dünya Miras Geçici Listesine 2014 yılında kaydedilmiştir.
