Silifke Kalesi’nin üzerinde yer aldığı tepenin alt kesiminde, mevcut anakayanın oyulması ile yapılmış Bizans Dönemi’ne ait bir su sarnıçıdır. 45 metre uzunluğunda, 23 metre genişliğinde ve 12 metre derinliğindedir. Sarnıça güneydoğu köşesindeki bir merdivenle inilmektedir. Halk arasında Tekir Ambarı olarak tanınmaktadır. Mimari özelliği ile Anadolu’da az bulunan örneklerden olan sarnıçın duvarları, su sızmasını önlemek ve ayrıca anıtsal bir nitelik kazandırmak için düzgün kesme taşlarla desteklenmiş, uzun kenarında sekiz, kısa kenarında beş yuvarlak kemerli niş oluşturulmuştur.
