The Tomb of Ebu’l Hasan Harakani is located within the complex of Evliya Mosque in the Kaleiçi neighborhood of Kars. According to the Kars Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Ebu’l Hasan, who played a major role in the Turkification of Anatolia, lived between AD 963-1033 and was one of the most important spiritual figures of his age. He was martyred in a war fought against the Byzantine army. After Sultan Alpaslan conquered Kars in 1064, a tomb was built in his name.
