Payas Kalesi de denilen Cin Kulesi Payas ilçesinde bulunmaktadır. Arşivlere göre tamamıyla bir Osmanlı kalesidir. Kale, Türk hakimiyetine geçtiği tarihlerde harap bir durumda idi. Bu nedenle İstanbul 1567 yılında, Adana Beyi'ne bir hüküm yollayarak kalenin derhal onarılması konusunda emir verir ve 1577'de tamamlanır. Hatay'ın ayrı bir Cumhuriyet olduğu 1918 - 39'da, önemli bir askeri garnizona sahip olduğu iddia edilen kale 1919 öncesinde ağır suçluların da hapsedildiği yapıydı.
