Gümüşhane Mansions are one of the most interesting elements of Gümüşhane’s original architecture, the old mansions. In the artistic structure of Gümüşhane Mansions, which are a part of Turkish residential architecture, the effects of social conditions such as belief, customs, traditions, and culture can be seen as much as natural conditions. With their architectural style, building materials, roof, and balconies, they carry the elegant grace of the past to the present day.

Gümüşhane Mansions were built within large gardens, as two- and three-storey buildings facing the street and the view. Local stone, adobe, and wood materials were used as building materials. Traditional features such as sedir, yüklük, çiçeklik, and ocak are present in the rooms. Almost all of the houses have inner halls, and the roofs have projecting and stepped eave arrangements in harmony with the structure. Inside the houses, there are traditional wooden decorations on the room doors and ceilings, while on the exterior facades, in addition to floral and geometric character decorations, there are also metal ornaments such as door knockers and keyhole frames.
