Çobandede Bridge; It was built on the route of the historic Silk Road. The bridge was commissioned in 1298 by Salduzlu Emir Çoban Noyin, the Vizier of the Ilkhanid Ruler Gazan Han (1295-1304). Located at the point where the Karga Pazarı and Aras rivers meet, the bridge is 128 meters long and 8,5 meters wide. The largest arch span of the bridge is 13 meters, and its highest point is 30 meters. The bridge, consisting of seven round-arched spans, had its first span closed during repairs carried out in recent years. The arches of the bridge were made of black, red and gray cut stone. Juniper trees were laid under the bridge piers. Thus, the bridge was prevented from sinking. In order to lighten the weight of the bridge, gaps were also left between the buttress walls. Çobandede Bridge, which underwent repairs in 1727-1872 and 1948, was last restored in 2011.
