The acropolis of the city was established on the hill. The city was inhabited during the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine Periods. Selinus is the most important region of the Rough Cilicia Region. The city took this name because the Roman Emperor Trijan died in this city. In the city, where Roman settlement is dense, the Medieval Castle, Agora, Large and Small Bath, Şekerhane Mansion and Monumental Tombs are architectural structures that can be seen today. Within the acropolis, the church and cistern are important structures that have survived to the present day. The other structures of the city of Selinus are located on the coast and on the slope. Among these structures are baths, agoras, Selçuklu Mansion, aqueduct and the Necropolis area. The monumental tomb in the necropolis is important. Most of the ostotheks in Alanya Archaeology Museum were brought from the Selinus Necropolis, which suggests the existence of a workshop in Selinus.
