Antik Selinus Kenti Gazipaşa İlçesi sınırları içerisinde yat limanının ve Hacı Musa Çayı’ nın güneybatısındaki denize dirsek gibi uzanan bir tepenin üzerinde ve yamacında yer alır. Kentin akrapolü tepeye kurulmuştur. Kent Helenistik, Roma ve Bizans Dönemlerinde yerleşim görmüştür. Selinus Dağlık Klikya Bölgesi'nin en önemli bölgesidir. Roma İmparatorlarından Trijan’ ın bu kente ölmesinden dolayı kent bu adı almıştır. Roma yerleşiminin yoğun olduğu kentte Orta Çağ Kalesi, Agora, Büyük ve Küçük Hamam, Şekerhane Köşkü ve Anıtsal Mezarlar günümüzde görülebilen mimari yapılardır. Akrapol içerisinde kilise ve sarnıç günümüze kadar gelmiş önemli yapılardır. Selinus kentinini diğer yapıları sahilde ve yamaçta yer almaktadır. Bu yapılar arasında hamamlar, agoralar, Selçuklu Köşkü, su kemeri ve Nekrapol alanı bulunmaktadır. Nekropoldeki anıtsal mezar önemlidir. Alanya Arkeoloji Müzesi'ndeki ostoteklerin çoğunluğu Selinus Nekropolünden getirilmişti, bu da Selinus’ ta bir atölyenin varlığını düşündürmektedir.
