Arkeolojik ve etnoğrafik eserlerin korunmasına ve sergilenmesine yönelik olarak 1967 yılında iki seksiyon halinde ziyarete açılmıştır. Bölgedeki antik kentlerde bulunan eserlerin artması ve depolanması, zaman içinde bir müze açma gerekliliğini doğurmuş ve bugünkü Arkeoloji Müzesi açılmıştır.. Alanya çevresinde bulunan ve İ.Ö. 625 yılına tarihlenen Fenike dilindeki yazıt da bölgede bulunan en erken eser olarak müzede sergilenmektedir. Bunların yanı sıra Helenistik, Roma ve Bizans dönemine ait, bronz, mermer, pişmiş toprak, cam ve mozaik buluntular ile Karamanlıca dilindeki iki adet yazıt ve arkaik, (İ.Ö.7-5yy)Klasik, Helenistik, Roma, Bizans, Selçuklu, Osmanlı ve Cumhuriyet Dönemlerine ait sikkeler de yine Arkeoloji seksiyonunda ayrı bir bölüm halinde yer almaktadır.
