M.Ö. 7. yüzyılda kurulmuş Karataş ilçesi sınırları içinde bulunan antik kenttir. Fenerin bulunduğu yamaç üzerindedir. Magarsos, Büyük İskender’in dua ettiği Athena Tapınağı ile ün kazanmıştır.Türklerin hakimiyetinde, bu kente, kara taşlardan yapılma Bizans dönemi kilisesinden dolayı Karakilise demişlerdir. Ancak Türk-Bizans savaşları sırasında kilise yanınca, bu ad Yanık kilise olarak değiştirilmiştir.
