Filyos’ta bulunan ve Romalılar tarafından yapıldığı düşünülen kale, kentin denize hakim bir noktası olan bir burun üzerinde kurulmuştur. Kale uzunca bir süre harabe durumda kaldıktan sonra, 2003 yılında Kültür Bakanlığı tarafından onarım çalışması yapılmıştır. İlk yerleşim yeri, kentin kuzeyindeki kale tepesi üzerindedir. Bugün burada ortaçağ kalesine ait duvarlar ile Helenistik-Roma dönemlerine tarihlenen kule kalıntısı bulunmaktadır.
