The region where the lands of Yozgat are located is called the “Bozok Plateau.” The plateau within the Kızılırmak arc consists of gently undulating plains cut by valleys reaching the Delice River and Çorum Stream. The Bozok Plateau leans on the Akdağlar in the east. In the northeast, the westward-extending branches of Deveci Mountain disappear among the plains. In the southwest, low mountains appear again toward Kırşehir. Among these, the elevation of the Bozok Plateau is between 1200-1400 meters. Descending toward the northwest, the plateau extends below 800 meters toward the Kızılırmak bottom plain. Cehirlik Plateau, Kadıpınarı, Şebekpınarı, Yahyasaray (Sırıklı) Plateau and Hisarbeyli Plateau, famous for its yogurt, are important plateaus of Yozgat.
