Yozgat topraklarının bulunduğu bölge “Bozok Yaylası” olarak adlandırılır. Kızılırmak yayı içerisinde kalan yayla, Delice Irmağı ve Çorum Suyu’na ulaşan vadilerle yarılmış, hafif dalgalı düzlüklerden oluşur. Bozok Yaylası doğuda Akdağlar’a dayanır. Kuzeydoğuda Deveci Dağı’nın batıya doğru ilerleyen kolları, düzlükler arasında kaybolur. Güneybatıda ise Kırşehir’e doğru yeniden alçak dağlar belirir. Bunlar arasında Bozok Yayla’sının yükseltisi 1200-1400 metre arasındadır. Kuzeybatıya doğru alçalan yayla, 800 metreden aşağıya Kızılırmak taban ovasına doğru uzanır. Cehirlik Yaylası, Kadıpınarı, Şebekpınarı, Yahyasaray (Sırıklı) Yaylası ve yoğurdu ile ünlü Hisarbeyli Yaylası Yozgat'ın önemli yaylalarıdır.
