The bastion, located on the Karakum road on the east of the peninsula, was built in the 19th century in order to ensure the security of the shipyard against dangers that might come from the sea and to protect the ships in the harbor. It is in the shape of a ნახევარმoon. In the lower section of the structure, which has 11 cannon emplacements at the top, there are large spaces used as an arsenal and barracks, and a cellar.
