The very large tomb built in Halikarnassos by Artemisia for King Mausolos, her husband and brother, considered one of the seven wonders of the world, combining Greek architecture with its columns and Egyptian architecture with its pyramid-shaped roof. Because of this importance, all later structures in the same style were called mausoleums. Today, the mausoleum area has been arranged as an open-air museum. When entering, a Bodrum-type house can be seen on the right.
