Yesemek Açik Hava Müzesi
Between the fourth quarter of the second millennium B.C. and the 8th century B.C., Yesemek was the largest quarry and sculpture processing workshop of the Near East. It is located on the Karatepe ridges of Yesemek Village, 22 kilometers southeast of İslahiye District. The workshop, where the native Hurrians worked, was put into operation during the reign of Emperor I. Şuppiluma, between 1375-1335 B.C., when the region came under Hittite rule.
