Hasankeyf, Siirt ve Maiferkeyn (Silvan) arasındaki üçgende yer alan Erzen bölgesinin önemli kalelerinden biri olan bu kale, M.S. 416 yılında Pers Hanedanı için dini bir merkez olarak kayalık bir tepe üzerine inşa edilmiştir. Ancak zamanla ortaçağın bu bölgesinden geçen İpek Yolu'nun önemli bir üssü olarak bütün ulaşımı kontrol eder bir konuma gelmiştir. Uzun yıllar İran İmparatorluğu'na bağlı kalan Kozluk Kalesi, 5. yüzyılda bir Nasturi piskoposluğunun merkezi durumunda iken, M.S.639 yılında İyaz Bin Ganem komutasındaki Müslüman orduları tarafından ele geçirilmiştir. Oldukça harap durumda olan kale, Kozluk ilçe merkezinin Kale Mahallesi'nde bulunmaktadır.
