The date of birth of Şeyh Hamza El-Kebir Hazretleri is unknown. He came from a place called Tedmur, connected to Hims Province. His lineage goes back to the great Companion Halid Bin Velid (R.A.). His father, Ebu Said-i Magzuni, was a contemporary of Abdülkadir Geylani Hz., who lived between Hijri 470, Gregorian 1077 and Hijri 561, Gregorian 1166, and they even taught lessons to each other. His great sainthood, established by widespread transmission, especially by the determination of İsmail Fakirullah Hz., and his having reached the مقام of “Kutb’ul Aktab,” made him one of the leading saints of Tillo. His order is the “Hamzeviyye” order. He had 12 sons. All of them were honored with the rank of sainthood. Şeyh Hamza El-Kebir Hz. passed away in Hijri 669, Gregorian 1271. His blessed grave is in the tomb built in Tillo in his name.
